Transcript—WBTV News Report: CATS Drivers Involved in Wrecks No Longer Allowed to Drive to Their Drug Tests
Tonia Bendickson, Reporting
“Changes in policy at CATS tonight following a collision
that killed cyclist Todd Weaver. Jean Leier at CATS told me
bus drivers will no longer be allowed to drive back to the
station following a wreck when a drug and alcohol test is
ordered.
“That change is significant because on October 14 former
CATS driver Jerry Miller was involved in two wrecks. The one
that killed cyclist Todd Weaver happened while Miller was
driving the bus back to the station from the first wreck. A
supervisor deemed Miller fit to drive.
“The new policy would have saved Todd Weaver’s life.”
From recorded broadcast, November 4, 2005.
