Transcript—WBTV News Report: CATS Driver Appealing Termination
Tonia Bendickson, Reporting
“Tonight, one month after the fatal collision of a CATS bus and a cyclist, we’ve learned the bus driver wants his job back.
“As WBTV first reported, CATS fired driver Jerry Miller two weeks after the wreck that killed cyclist Todd Weaver. Tonight CATS sources say Miller is appealing his termination.
“CATS agreement with its drivers allows four preventable accidents in 36 months before a driver can be fired.
“In contrast, I talked with CMS’ transportation department. Your child’s school bus driver can be terminated after just one wreck.”
