Forever we will be grateful that our two sons had such a wonderful person, not only as uncle but as a buddy. He placed a smile on their faces and in their hearts. What a priceless gift! We will truly miss his enthusiasm for life shared with our family. Our life will forever carry the wonderful loving memories embedded in our hearts of Todd and his brilliant laugh and smile!

Terminated Driver Still Fighting for Job

11:00 p.m. News Broadcast

Tonia Bendickson, Reporting

“A terminated CATS bus driver tonight still working to get his job back. Jerry Miller was driving October 14 when his bus collided with and killed cyclist Todd Weaver.

“I talked today with Miller's union representative who tells me the driver's case is about two thirds of the way through the grievance process. Miller worked at CATS about five years and was earning top driver pay at $19.34 an hour.

“Cyclists in Charlotte are sending letters like this to the District Attorney, asking him to seek the maximum penalty against Miller to send a message to drivers that cyclists have a right to safe passage on Charlotte roads.”
